Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the historic center of San Gimignano, head towards the main square known as Piazza della Cisterna. From there, walk north towards the Via San Giovanni. Continue straight, and you will see the tall towers of San Gimignano ahead of you. As you approach, take the right fork onto Via del Duomo, which will lead you directly to Piazza del Duomo. The whole walk should take about 10-15 minutes.

    From the San Gimignano bus station, exit the station and head towards the main road leading into the town. Follow the signs for the historic center. After about 5 minutes, you will reach the city walls. Enter the town through the main gate, and follow the main street (Via San Giovanni) until you reach Piazza della Cisterna. From there, follow the previous instructions to Piazza del Duomo.

    If you are at the Collegiata di San Gimignano, exit the church and turn left onto Via San Giovanni. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via del Duomo. Turn right, and you will find yourself in Piazza del Duomo. This route is very scenic and should take about 5 minutes.
