Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of San Gimignano, walk towards the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. Head south on Via San Giovanni, passing by local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Vecchia. Turn left and follow this road, which will eventually lead you out of the town. Keep walking straight, and you will start to see signs for Castagneto Carducci. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. You will need to cross some countryside, so be prepared for a bit of a trek, but the views are beautiful.

• Public Transport

  From San Gimignano, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. Look for the bus service that heads towards Castagneto Carducci. Check the local bus schedule for departure times, as services may not run frequently. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes to an hour. Upon arriving in Castagneto Carducci, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to Loc. Lungagnano, 128, where Podere Grattamacco is located.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer a more active route, consider renting a bicycle in San Gimignano. There are several rental shops near the main square. Once you have your bike, head south from the square on Via San Giovanni and follow the same route as the walking directions. Biking will allow you to cover the distance more quickly, with a ride taking approximately 20-30 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views of the Tuscan countryside along the way!
