Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the center of Trento, head south on Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi toward Via di Torre Vanga. Continue on Via di Torre Vanga, then turn left onto Via della Libertà. From there, follow the signs for the SS12 highway. Merge onto SS12 and continue until you see signs for Trento Centro. Take the exit toward Centro and follow the signs to Vicolo delle Orsoline, where Santa Maria Maggiore is located. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a parking fee.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Trento's main train station (Stazione di Trento), you can take bus line 5 or 7 towards 'Piedicastello'. Make sure to check the local bus schedules as they may vary. Get off at the 'Piazza Fiera' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Santa Maria Maggiore. Head south on Via Santa Margherita, then turn left onto Via delle Orsoline, which leads directly to the church. A single bus ticket costs around €1.50.

  If you are traveling from a nearby city such as Bolzano or Rovereto, take a train to Trento. Upon arrival at the Trento train station, follow the public transportation instructions above (bus line 5 or 7) or opt for a taxi from the station to Vicolo delle Orsoline. The taxi ride will cost approximately €10-€15 and takes around 10 minutes.

• Walking

  For those already in the city center, Santa Maria Maggiore is easily accessible on foot. From Piazza Duomo, head south on Via Belenzani, then turn right onto Via delle Orsoline. The church is located at Vicolo delle Orsoline, 1. This pleasant walk will take you approximately 10-15 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful architecture along the way.
