Start at the main square in Urbino, Piazza della Repubblica. From the square, head northwest towards Via Raffaello. Walk along Via Raffaello until you reach the intersection with Via Montefeltro. Turn left onto Via Montefeltro and continue straight. You will pass by the University of Urbino on your left and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Via Bologna. Turn right onto Via Bologna, and follow it until you reach Borgo Mercatale. Porta Valbona is located at Borgo Mercatale, 25, which should be on your right side.

If you are starting from the Ducal Palace (Palazzo Ducale), exit the palace and head towards the main entrance gate of the palace, which leads to Piazza della Repubblica. From there, follow the previous directions: walk northwest towards Via Raffaello, continue on Via Montefeltro, turn onto Via Bologna, and finally reach Borgo Mercatale.

For those coming from the Urbino Cathedral (Cattedrale di Urbino), exit the cathedral and head east towards Corso Garibaldi. Follow Corso Garibaldi until you reach the intersection with Via Montefeltro, then turn left. Continue on Via Montefeltro, then turn right onto Via Bologna. Finally, follow Via Bologna until you reach Borgo Mercatale where Porta Valbona is located.
