Car
If you are traveling by car, start on the A32 highway from Turin towards Bardonecchia. Take the exit for Susa and follow the signs for Fenestrelle. Continue on the SP23 road, which leads directly to Fenestrelle. After about 15 kilometers, you will arrive at Via del Forte, where the fortress is located. Parking is available near the fortress, but be mindful of any parking fees.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a train from Turin to Susa. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Susa, head to the bus station located near the train station. From there, take the local bus (line 282) towards Fenestrelle. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off close to Via del Forte, the address of the fortress. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for return trips.
Walking
If you're staying in nearby areas like Susa or Cesana Torinese and prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike to Fenestrelle. From Susa, head up Via dei Monti and follow the marked hiking trails. The hike is rigorous and will take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear proper hiking shoes and bring water and snacks for the journey.
