    If you are driving from Ortisei, take the SP24 road towards Selva di Val Gardena. Continue on the SP24 until you reach the junction with the SS242. Take the SS242 towards Marebbe. Follow the signs to Marebbe, and as you enter the village, look for the signs for Alpe di Fanes. The road will take you up into the mountains. Note that parking may not be available close to Rifugio Lavarella, so plan to park in designated areas and walk the remaining distance.

    From Ortisei, take the bus line 350 towards Brunico. Get off at the Marebbe stop, which is the closest to Rifugio Lavarella.
