Getting There

  • Vaporetto

    If you are in Venice, take the Vaporetto (water bus) Line 1 or Line 2 from any nearby stop towards Piazzale Roma or Santa Lucia. Disembark at the 'Rialto' stop. From the Rialto stop, walk away from the Grand Canal towards the 'Mercato di Rialto'. Continue straight through the market area until you reach 'Ponte di Rialto' (Rialto Bridge). Cross the bridge, and after descending the steps on the other side, turn left onto 'Campo San Bartolomeo'. Walk straight across the campo and take the first right onto 'Calle dei Fabbri'. Continue straight until you reach 'Campo San Luca'. From there, head towards 'Calle Larga XXII Marzo', then take a left towards 'Campo Santo Stefano'. Finally, continue straight until you reach the 'Viale della Libertà' which leads to the train station, and from there take a train to Padua, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Once in Padua, walk to 'Piazza Capitaniato' where Liviano Palace is located.

    Head to the Santa Lucia Train Station in Venice. You can walk there from anywhere in the city, but if you're unsure, follow signs for 'Ferrovia' which will guide you to the station. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for Padua (Padova). Board the train that is heading to Padua; trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next available train. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Padua train station, exit the station and follow signs for the city center. You can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take a local bus. If walking, head straight along 'Viale della Libertà', then turn right onto 'Via San Francesco'. Continue straight until you reach 'Piazza Capitaniato' where Liviano Palace is located.

    If you are near 'Piazza San Marco', start by walking towards 'Ponte della Paglia'. From there, walk straight along 'Riva degli Schiavoni' until you reach 'Bacino di San Marco'. Continue walking along the waterfront, taking in the views. Eventually, you will arrive at 'Campo San Moisè'. From there, turn left onto 'Calle de le Botteghe', and keep going straight until you reach 'Calle Larga XXII Marzo'. Take a right and make your way toward 'Piazza San Luca'. Follow the signs for 'Piazza Capitaniato'. This walk will take about 40-50 minutes, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
