Walking
If you are in the heart of San Marco, simply head towards the iconic Campanile (bell tower) which is visible from many points in the area. Walk towards the Campanile and as you approach, you will see the grand entrance to St. Mark's Square (P.za San Marco) just in front of you. The square is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings, so you will not miss it.
Water Taxi
If you are farther out in San Marco, you might choose to take a water taxi. Look for a water taxi station, and tell the driver to take you to 'Piazza San Marco'. The ride is scenic and should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Note that water taxis can be expensive, typically costing around €40-€60 for a short trip.
Vaporetto (Water Bus)
For a more budget-friendly option, you can take the Vaporetto (water bus) to St. Mark's Square. Find the nearest Vaporetto stop and board line 1 or line 2 heading towards 'San Marco'. The fare is approximately €7.50 for a single journey. The ride will take you directly to the San Marco stop which is just a short walk from the square.
Land Routes
If you prefer to explore the local streets, you can navigate through the narrow alleys of San Marco. Look for signs directing you to 'Piazza San Marco' or follow the crowds as they naturally lead towards the square. The walk may take about 10-20 minutes depending on your starting point, but it offers a charming experience of Venice's architecture and ambiance.
