Bus
From the center of Port Antonio, walk to the nearest bus station located on East Street. Look for a bus heading towards Boston Bay. These buses are usually marked with their destinations on the front. The fare is quite affordable, typically around 200 Jamaican dollars. Once on the bus, it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to reach Boston Bay. Keep an eye out for the scenic views along the coast. When you arrive at Boston Bay, the bus will drop you off near the beach area.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Port Antonio. Head to a nearby taxi stand, or ask your hotel to call one for you. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should be around 1000-1500 Jamaican dollars. The taxi will take you directly to Boston Bay, which is located approximately 9 kilometers from the town center. Enjoy the scenic drive along the coastal road, and once you arrive, the driver will drop you off at the beach area.
Walking
For those who enjoy a longer stroll, you can walk to Boston Bay from the center of Port Antonio. Start on East Street and head northeast towards the coast. Continue along the shoreline, following the main path that leads to the beach. The walk is approximately 9 kilometers and will take about 2 hours. You’ll experience beautiful views of the coastline and local scenery along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially on a warm day.
