Getting There

Car
If you're driving from Aomori City, head south on Route 4 (also known as the Hachinohe-Aomori Road) towards the Aomori Interchange. After about 20 km, take the exit for Route 7 towards Iwaki. Continue on Route 7 for approximately 10 km until you reach the sign for Mt. Iwaki Observatory. Follow the signs and drive up the mountain road for about 7 km. The observatory is located at the top, where you can find parking available.

To reach Mt. Iwaki Observatory using public transportation, start at Aomori Station. Take the bus bound for Iwaki or the community bus, which operates several times a day. The bus journey will take about 40 minutes. Get off at the 'Iwaki Kanko Center' bus stop. From there, you can either take a taxi (approximately 1,500 JPY) or walk up the mountain road, which takes about 30 minutes. If you opt for walking, be prepared for a steep incline.
