Getting There

    From Hakata Station, take the Hakata Exit (West side) and turn right. Walk past the bus terminal, then turn left onto Jotenji-dori Avenue. Continue straight for a few minutes until you reach the Hakata Sennen-no-Mon Gate, marking the entrance to Hakata Old Town. The walk is approximately 8-10 minutes and is free.

    Take the Kuko Airport Line to Gion Station for the eastern side of Hakata Old Town. Exit the station through exit 1 or 4. Alternatively, for the western side, take the Hakozaki Line to Gofukumachi Station and exit through exit 3, 4, or 5. Subway fare is based on distance, with a one-day pass available for ¥640 for adults. Child fares are half price.
