Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Harima, take Route 2 (National Route 2) heading towards Himeji. Follow the signs for Himeji City Center. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach Himeji. Use your GPS or map app to navigate to 68 Honmachi, Himeji, Hyogo 670-0012, where the zoo is located. There is parking available at the zoo, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen for the day.

• Public Transportation (Train)

  From Harima, head to the nearest train station and take the JR Sanyo Line towards Himeji Station. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Himeji Station, exit the station and take the north exit. From there, you can either walk to the zoo, which is about a 20-minute walk (1.5 kilometers), or take a local bus. If you choose to walk, head north on the main road, then turn right onto Honmachi Street. The zoo is located at 68 Honmachi. If you opt for the bus, take the bus that goes to Himeji City Zoo; the fare is approximately 210 yen.

  If you prefer taking a bus directly from Harima, check the local bus schedules for a route heading to Himeji. Once in Himeji, you can take a local bus that goes directly to Himeji City Zoo. The fare typically ranges from 210 to 300 yen depending on your starting point. Make sure to confirm the bus stops at the zoo; they usually announce stops in both Japanese and English.
