Car
From Hiroshima city center, take the Sanyo Expressway (E2) heading west. Exit at the Akiōta Interchange and follow the signs to Route 186. Continue on Route 186 for about 20 minutes until you reach the town of Akiōta. Once in Akiōta, follow the signs for Sandankyo Gorge, which will lead you to Shiwagi. The scenic spot is accessible via a short drive, and you will find parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
From Hiroshima Station, take a local train on the Geibi Line to Akiōta Station. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Akiōta Station, exit the station and look for the bus stop. Take the bus heading towards Sandankyo (check the bus schedule as it may vary), which is about a 30-minute ride. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to Sandankyo Gorge. Follow the signs to walk to the scenic spot from there.
