Car
If you are driving from your location in Iki, head towards the main road that leads out of the city. Follow Route 57 heading northeast towards the ferry terminal. Once you reach the ferry terminal, take the ferry to the mainland (this ferry ride takes about 40 minutes and costs approximately ¥1,500 for a one-way ticket). After reaching the mainland, continue on Route 20 towards Chino. Once you reach Chino, follow the signs to Kitayama and then to Shirakaba Lake, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Chino.
Public Transportation
To reach Shirakaba Lake using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Iki to the ferry terminal. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. From the ferry terminal, take the ferry to the mainland, which takes about 40 minutes and costs approximately ¥1,500 for a one-way ticket. Once you arrive on the mainland, take the train from the ferry terminal to Chino Station. From Chino Station, you can take a local bus towards Kitayama. Make sure to check the bus schedule, as the buses may not run frequently. The bus ride from Chino to Shirakaba Lake takes about 30 minutes.
