Car
If you are driving from central Izu, take Route 135 towards Yugawara. Continue on Route 135 for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1. Follow Route 1 for about 10 minutes, then take the exit toward Yugawara Onsen. Continue straight until you reach Kajiya, and follow the signs to Mt. Taikan Observation Deck. There is parking available at the observation deck. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 500 yen.
Public Transportation
To reach Mt. Taikan Observation Deck using public transport, take the JR Tokaido Line from your location in Izu to Yugawara Station. The journey will take around 20-30 minutes. Upon arrival at Yugawara Station, exit the station and catch a local bus heading towards Kajiya. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Make sure to get off at the stop for Mt. Taikan Observation Deck. The bus fare is usually around 300 yen. From the bus stop, follow the signs leading to the observation deck, which is a short walk away.
