Rina the guide was really sweet but we thought the actual tasting was not what we expected. Generally, when we’ve done this in the past, the guide, picks the food in advance and explains all the samplings. This way we can experience things we might not have been familiar with. On this tour, the second restaurant we ordered off the menu. Kind of felt like we just had somebody accompanying us to dinner. We would’ve rather gone to a few more restaurants to try different things as well. I understand this is a new tour for your company and maybe it just needs to be tweaked going forward again. Our guide was lovely, but it was just not the experience we were hoping for.

We had a 2 hour food tasting toor in Kanazawa Omicho food Market with Kyoko AKA Katie. Tasting a variety of foods. We found her incredibly helpful and engaging. We also got to chat about her family and general Japanese culture, which we found enjoyable. Kyoko also gave us recommendations on local restaurants around where we were staying. All in all, a great experience and thoroughly recommend it. Thanks Kyoko!!
