If you're traveling by car, start your journey from central Tokyo. Take the Tōmei Expressway (E1) towards Nagoya and then merge onto the Kanetsu Expressway (E17) towards Niigata. Exit at the Nikko IC and follow Route 119 toward Nikko. Once in Nikko, follow the signs to Toshogu Shrine. The Nemuri-neko (Sleeping cat carving) is located inside the shrine area. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be a fee for parking.
