Car
If you are driving, start from central Koshi and head east on Route 10 (also known as the Oita Expressway). Continue on Route 10 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the Taketa exit. After taking the exit, follow the signs for Taketa City and then for Kariono. Once you enter the Kariono area, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Ameushino Falls, which is located a few kilometers from the main road. The falls will be on your left side, and there is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at Koshi Station. Take the JR Hohi Line train towards Beppu. Get off at Taketa Station, which is about a 30-minute ride. From Taketa Station, you can catch a local bus heading towards Kariono. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Ameushino Falls stop, or look for signs indicating the falls. Once you get off, follow the short walking path to the falls.
