Getting There

  • Public Transit

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR San-in Line (also known as the JR Sagano Line) toward Saga-Arashiyama Station. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Saga-Arashiyama Station, exit the station and head toward the south exit. From there, you can either walk (approximately 15 minutes) or take a short bus ride. If walking, head south on Arashiyama Main Street, then turn left onto Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho. Arashiyu is located at 35-40 Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho, which will be on your right.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, you can also take the Kyoto City Bus #28 towards Saga Arashiyama. This bus will take you directly to the Arashiyama area. Get off at the stop called 'Arashiyama Tenryuji'. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Head northeast on the main road (Arashiyama Main Street) and then turn left onto Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho. Arashiyu will be located at 35-40 Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho, on your right.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer a more active way to reach Arashiyu, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Kyoto Station. Once you have your bike, head towards the Togetsukyo Bridge, then follow the river path to Arashiyama. After crossing the bridge, continue along the road, and turn left onto Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho. Arashiyu will be located at 35-40 Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho.
