Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kumamoto city center. Take Route 3 (Nishihon Expressionway) towards Hitoyoshi. After about 1 hour, take the exit towards Hitoyoshi and follow the signs to Route 219. Continue on Route 219 for about 15 minutes until you reach Fumotomachi. Sengetsu Castle will be on your left. There is parking available nearby.
Train
For those using public transportation, take the JR Kagoshima Main Line from Kumamoto Station to Hitoyoshi Station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Hitoyoshi Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. Take the local bus heading towards Fumotomachi. Get off at the Fumotomachi stop, and Sengetsu Castle will be just a short walk from there.
Bus
If you choose to travel by bus from Kumamoto, use the Kumamoto City Bus service to reach the Kumamoto Bus Terminal. From there, take an express bus heading to Hitoyoshi. The bus ride will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once in Hitoyoshi, disembark at the Fumotomachi bus stop, and you will find Sengetsu Castle within a 10-minute walking distance.
