Car
If you are driving from the Mount Fuji area, take the Route 1 (Tōmei Expressway) heading towards Susono. After approximately 20 minutes, take the Susono exit. Follow the signs for Suyama, which will lead you onto Route 246. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach Suyama. Look for parking areas around the entrance to Echizen, as it can get busy on weekends and holidays.
Public Transportation
To reach Echizen by public transportation, take a train from the Fujikyu Railway station or the JR Fujisan station to Susono station. The journey typically takes around 30 minutes. From Susono station, you can take a local bus heading towards Suyama. Ensure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently. Get off at the 'Suyama' bus stop, and from there, it's a short walk to Echizen, following the signs for the hiking area.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in the Mount Fuji area. From the center of Fujiyoshida city, take the road towards Suyama, which is about 15 kilometers away. It’s a scenic route, but be prepared for some uphill sections. Upon reaching Suyama, there are designated bike racks where you can securely park your bicycle before heading to Echizen.
