Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the Mount Fuji area, head towards Route 138. Follow the signs for Hakone. Once you reach Hakone, continue on Route 1 (Tōmei Expressway) towards Odawara. Take the Sengokuhara exit and follow the signs for Owakudani. The drive will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, look for parking areas designated for Owakudani visitors.

  • Public Transportation

    To get to Owakudani using public transportation, first take a bus from the Mount Fuji area to Hakone. You can catch the Fujikyu bus from Fujisan Station or other local stops. Get off at Hakone Yumoto Station. From there, transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway and take the train to Gora Station. At Gora, switch to the Hakone Cable Car, which will take you directly to Owakudani. The entire journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, including transfers.
