From the center of Mutsu, head south on Route 279 towards Ominato. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you reach Ominato. Look for signs directing you to Mt. Kamabuse. Once you arrive, there should be designated parking areas near the trailhead for Mt. Kamabuse. Parking may be free, but check for any local signs indicating fees.
Public Transportation
Start at the Mutsu City Bus Terminal. Take the bus heading towards Ominato (check the local schedule for exact routes and times). The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Ominato stop. From there, you can either walk to Mt. Kamabuse (around 2 kilometers) or grab a local taxi, which should take about 5 minutes and cost approximately 1,000 yen. Make sure to confirm the taxi fare with the driver before starting your journey.
