Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine: A Tranquil Retreat in Nagoya

Getting There

• Subway

  From Nagoya Station, take the Higashiyama Line (light blue line) towards Fujigaoka. Get off at Sakae Station (approximately a 5-minute ride). Upon exiting the station, take the exit 3. After exiting, walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will reach Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine at 3 Chome-35-30 Sakae.

• Bus

  From Nagoya Station, head to the bus terminal located near the station's exit. Take the Meitetsu Bus bound for Sakae. Alight at the Sakae stop, which takes about 10 minutes. From the bus stop, walk straight for about 5 minutes to reach Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine located at 3 Chome-35-30 Sakae.

• Walking

  If you are near the Sakae area, you can walk to the shrine. From the Sakae subway area, head north on Kamimaezu Street, continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Sakae 3 Chome. Turn right and walk for about 2 minutes. The shrine will be on your left at 3 Chome-35-30 Sakae.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a taxi, you can hail one from any location in Nagoya. Simply provide the driver with the address: 3 Chome-35-30 Sakae, Naka Ward. The taxi ride from Nagoya Station will take around 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
