If you are driving from central Nikko, head southeast on Route 120. Follow the signs for Lake Chuzenji and continue until you reach the entrance of Hangetsuyama. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes, and there is parking available near the base of the mountain. Please note that parking may incur a fee of about 500 yen.

To reach Hangetsuyama via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Nikko Station or Tobu Nikko Station. Look for the bus bound for Lake Chuzenji (Chuzenji Onsen). The bus ride takes around 40 minutes. Disembark at the Hangetsuyama stop. From there, you will need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the base of the mountain. The bus fare is approximately 1,200 yen one way.
