Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the heart of Tennoji, start by heading towards Shitennoji Temple, which is located at 1 Chome-11-18 Shitennoji, Tennoji Ward, Osaka. From Tennoji Station, exit through the park side and walk straight down the road. You will pass the beautiful park on your left and see signs for Shitennoji. It is approximately a 15-minute walk.

  • Subway

    From Tennoji Station, take the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line (Light Blue Line) towards Dainichi. Get off at Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station; the temple is a short 5-minute walk away. Exit the station and follow the signs to Shitennoji, which will lead you directly to the temple entrance.

    You can also take the Osaka City Bus from Tennoji Station. Board Bus No. 61 or 70, which will take you directly to Shitennoji. The fare is approximately 210 yen. Once you arrive at the Shitennoji bus stop, the temple will be just a short walk from there.
