Rising dramatically from the HEP Five shopping complex in Osaka's bustling Umeda district, the HEP Five Ferris Wheel is a vibrant red landmark and a unique attraction. Opened in 1998, it was the first Ferris wheel in the world to be integrated into a building. The boarding platform is located on the 7th floor, making it seem as though the wheel pierces right through the building.
The Ferris wheel has a 75-meter diameter and reaches a height of 106 meters, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of Osaka. On a clear day, you can see as far as the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the east and Mt. Ikoma to the west. At night, the city lights sparkle below, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Each of the 52 gondolas seats four people and is equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring a comfortable 15-minute ride regardless of the season. You can even connect your phone via Bluetooth to play your own music during the ride.
Below the Ferris wheel, the HEP Five shopping complex offers over 170 shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities, including a cinema complex and arcade.
