Yurigahara Park, located in Sapporo's Kita Ward, is a sprawling 25.4-hectare park that offers a tranquil escape into a world of diverse flora. Established in 1983, the park was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Showa's reign and was initially named Tohoku Park. The park's design was conceptualized by the Faculty of Agriculture of Hokkaido University.The park is renowned for its seasonal flower displays, featuring approximately 6,400 plant species. Lilies are a park symbol, with around 100 varieties showcased in the World Lily Square from late June to late August.
