    From Tochigi Station on the JR Utsunomiya Line, take the bus heading towards Ohirasan, labeled 'Ohirasan' or 'Hiraicho'. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Check the bus schedule for return times in advance. Bus fare is approximately ¥500.

  • Taxi

    From Ohirashita Station, served by the JR Ryomo Line, or Tochigi Station, take a taxi to Ohirasan Prefectural Natural Park. The taxi ride takes approximately 10 minutes from either station. The cost is approximately ¥3,000-¥4,000.

  • Car

    From the center of Shimotsuke, head north on Route 50 towards Tochigi City. After approximately 10 km, take the exit towards Route 293. Continue on Route 293 for about 5 km until you see signs for Ohirasan Prefectural Natural Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance at 643 Hiraicho, Tochigi, 328-0054. Parking is available on-site. Parking fees may apply.

The 2-kilometer scenic road from the foot of Mount Ōhira to the peak is lined with sakura trees, creating a tunnel of blossoms. In late May, the azaleas bloom, followed by hydrangeas from late June to mid-July. In late November, the fall colors come in. The Kenshin-daira plateau, near the summit of Mt. Ohira, offers a sweeping view of the Kanto Plain. On a clear day, visitors can see as far as the skyscrapers of Tokyo and even Mount Fuji. This vista point gets its name from Sengoku-period warlord Uesugi Kenshin, who was awestruck by the vastness of the Kantō Plain. The tranquility of the park makes it an ideal spot for picnicking, birdwatching, or simply unwinding in nature's embrace. The park's unique topography offers various vantage points, allowing guests to capture mesmerizing photographs of the surrounding beauty.
