Fuji Television Network: Broadcasting from the Bay
Explore the iconic Fuji Television building in Odaiba, offering futuristic architecture and panoramic views of Tokyo Bay.
Fuji Television Network's headquarters is more than just a broadcasting center; it's an architectural marvel and a symbol of Odaiba's transformation into a futuristic entertainment hub. Designed by Kenzo Tange and completed in 1996, the building stands out with its unique Neo-Metabolist megastructure, featuring two towers connected by sky corridors and a massive titanium-faced sphere. The building houses several attractions for visitors. The HACHITAMA Spherical Observation Room on the 25th floor provides breathtaking 270-degree views of the Tokyo waterfront, including the Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo Skytree. Visitors can also explore the Fuji TV Gallery, which showcases displays from some of Fuji TV's most popular shows. The gallery includes memorable videos, costumes, and props, as well as an AR photo spot where visitors can take pictures with popular characters. There are also shops selling merchandise from Fuji TV programs, movies, and anime. Fuji Television has played a significant role in shaping Japanese television since its founding in 1957. It established the Fuji News Network (FNN) in 1966 and the Fuji Network System (FNS) in 1969, expanding its reach across Japan. The network has been a pioneer in television technology, including high-definition television and digital broadcasting. Today, Fuji Television continues to be a major force in Japanese media, with overseas offices in multiple locations around the globe.
