Walking
If you are in Ueno Park, head towards the main path that runs through the park. Follow the path straight until you reach a large pond on your left. Continue walking, and you will see the entrance to Ueno Zoological Gardens on your right at 9-83 Uenokoen, Taito City. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes depending on your starting point in Ueno Park.

Public Transport - Subway
From Ueno Station, take the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line towards Shibuya. Get off at the next stop, which is 'Ueno Park.' Exit the station, and you'll find yourself right at the entrance of Ueno Park. The zoo is located within the park, about a 10-minute walk as described above. Note that a single ticket costs around 200 yen.

You can also take the Toden Arakawa Line from Waseda to Minowabashi and get off at the Ueno Station tram stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Ueno Zoological Gardens. Make sure to have some cash for the tram fare, which is approximately 220 yen.
