Sakura Onsen Street, located in Isawa Onsen, Fuefuki, Yamanashi, is a celebrated destination that draws visitors with its stunning seasonal beauty and therapeutic hot springs. The street stretches for approximately 900 meters along the Chikazu River, and is lined with Somei Yoshino cherry trees, creating a breathtaking tunnel of pale pink blossoms in spring.During the cherry blossom season, which typically occurs from late March to early April, the street transforms into a vibrant spectacle. The trees are illuminated at night, casting a magical glow on the blossoms and the surrounding townscape. Visitors can stroll along the wooden deck promenade that runs alongside the river, taking in the beauty of the cherry blossoms and the soothing sounds of the water. Many hotels and ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) line the street, offering guests convenient access to both the cherry blossoms and the hot springs.Isawa Onsen is known for its alkaline-rich hot spring water, which is believed to have therapeutic benefits for muscle and joint pain, fatigue, and other ailments. The hot spring was discovered in 1961 when a well was being dug. Visitors can enjoy the onsen at various bathhouses and hotels along the street, experiencing the traditional Japanese bathing culture.
