Walking
From the center of Jerash, walk towards the main road (Queen Alia Street). Head north until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Umm Qais. This is about 4 kilometers, so it may take you around 50 minutes on foot. Once you reach the intersection, you will see signs indicating the direction to Umm Qais. Continue walking straight along the road until you reach the entrance of Umm Qais.
Public Bus
From Jerash, head to the bus station located near the town center. Look for buses heading towards Umm Qais; they usually have signs in Arabic and may also indicate 'Umm Qais' in English. The bus ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Umm Qais bus stop, you will need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the archaeological site.
Taxi
If you prefer not to walk or take the bus, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Jerash. Simply ask the taxi driver to take you to Umm Qais. The trip should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey or ensure the taxi has a meter.
