Getting There

Walking
From the main entrance of Petra Archaeological Park, head towards the Siq, the narrow canyon that leads into Petra. Walk through the Siq, which is about 1.2 km long and takes approximately 20-30 minutes to walk through. Once you exit the Siq, you will reach the famous Al-Khazneh (The Treasury). From Al-Khazneh, take the path that leads you uphill towards the High Place of Sacrifice. As you ascend, keep an eye out for signs leading to the I Love Petra Sign. The sign is located on a hilltop with a panoramic view of the surrounding area, so you may need to walk a bit further up the trail to find the exact spot. The walk from Al-Khazneh to the I Love Petra Sign takes about 30-45 minutes.

Horse Ride
At the entrance of Petra Archaeological Park, you can hire a horse to take you to the Siq. This ride costs around 5 JOD (Jordanian Dinar) and will take you to the beginning of the Siq. After reaching the Siq, you will need to continue on foot, as horses are not allowed further into the site. Once you reach Al-Khazneh, follow the walking instructions from there towards the I Love Petra Sign, which is about a 30-45 minute hike uphill.

If you're interested in a more traditional mode of transport, you can also hire a camel at the entrance of Petra. The cost for a camel ride starts at around 10 JOD to the Siq. After reaching the end of the camel route, you will be at the Siq entrance and need to walk to Al-Khazneh.
