If you are driving, start from Tafileh city center and head south on Highway 15. Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Wadi Musa. Look for signs directing you to Petra. Once in Wadi Musa, you will need to navigate to the Great Temple location at 8CHR+FWF, which is within the Petra archaeological park. Parking is available near the entrance of the park, but keep in mind that there may be a parking fee of around 5 JOD (Jordanian Dinar). After parking, proceed to the visitor center to purchase your entrance ticket to Petra, which costs 50 JOD for a single day.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Tafileh to Wadi Musa. Buses may be infrequent, so check local schedules or ask at your accommodation for the latest information. The bus fare is typically around 3-5 JOD. Once in Wadi Musa, you can either walk to the Great Temple, which is about 2 kilometers from the bus drop-off point, or take a taxi for approximately 2 JOD. Ensure to have some cash on hand for the taxi fare and entry fee to Petra.

If you're in Tafileh and prefer a direct route without the hassle of public transport, consider hiring a taxi. The fare from Tafileh to Wadi Musa should be negotiated beforehand, but expect to pay around 25-30 JOD for a one-way trip. Once you arrive in Wadi Musa, ask the driver to take you directly to the Great Temple at 8CHR+FWF. Ensure to clarify the fare for the return trip if you plan to have the taxi wait for you.
