The Enchantment of Dayr as Si'nah's Diwan al-Khizirat

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Umm Qais, head east on the main road (the one that goes towards the archaeological site). Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of the Umm Qais Archaeological Park. This will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the park entrance, turn right and follow the signs towards Dayr as Si'nah. Keep walking straight for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs for ديوان الخضيرات on your left. The location is just past the local shops, marked by a distinct sign.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Umm Qais. Start by cycling east on the main road towards the archaeological site. After about 15 minutes, you will arrive at the entrance of the Umm Qais Archaeological Park. Turn right here and follow the path towards Dayr as Si'nah. Continue cycling for approximately 1 kilometer. You will find ديوان الخضيرات on your left, right after a few local shops. The ride should take around 10 minutes from the park entrance.

• Local Bus

  Find the local bus stop in Umm Qais, which is usually near the main square. Take a bus heading towards Dayr as Si'nah. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to ديوان الخضيرات (ask the driver for assistance if needed). Once you disembark, it’s a short walk of about 5 minutes back towards the main road where you will see ديوان الخضيرات on your right side. Make sure to check the bus timetable for the return journey.
