Getting There

  From Cross Timbers, head east on State Highway 54 (US-54 E) for approximately 20 miles, following signs for Independence. After reaching Independence, take the exit for US-75 N. Continue on US-75 N for about 3 miles, then take the exit for Squaw Creek Rd. Turn left onto Squaw Creek Rd and follow it for about 4 miles. Elk City State Park will be on your left at 4825 Squaw Creek Rd, Independence, KS 67301.

  Unfortunately, public transportation options to Elk City State Park are limited. The nearest bus station is located in Independence, Kansas. From Cross Timbers, you will first need to take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Independence. Once in Independence, you would need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to take you to Elk City State Park, approximately 5 miles away. It's advisable to confirm the fare with the driver beforehand.
