If you are already in Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, start by heading southeast on the main road within the preserve. Follow the signs for the Visitor Center as you exit the preserve. Continue on the same road until you reach the intersection with K-177. Turn right onto K-177 South. After approximately 5 miles, you will see a sign for the Ranch Legacy Trail. Turn left onto the gravel road indicated by the sign. Drive for another half mile and you will arrive at the parking area for the Ranch Legacy Trail.

From the Strong City bus stop, you will need to walk about 3 miles to the Ranch Legacy Trail. Head north on Main Street until you reach K-177, then turn right and follow K-177 for about 2 miles.
