If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Cumberland Plateau and head southeast on US-27 S. Follow US-27 S for approximately 15 miles until you reach the intersection with KY-80 E. Take a left onto KY-80 E and continue for about 10 miles. After passing through the town of Pine Knot, you will reach the junction with KY-92 E. Turn right onto KY-92 E and drive for another 8 miles. As you approach Putney, keep an eye out for the signs for Kentenia State Forest. The forest entrance is located on your right. Make sure to have a GPS or a map handy, as cell service may be limited in some areas.
