Car
From the center of Outer Bluegrass, head southeast on Main St toward US-421 S. Merge onto US-421 S and continue for about 20 miles. Take the exit for KY-52 E/Irvine. Continue on KY-52 E for approximately 8 miles. Once you enter Irvine, turn left onto Little Rock Rd. Follow Little Rock Rd for about 3 miles, and you will reach Lily Mountain Nature Preserve at 551 Little Rock Rd, Irvine, KY 40336. There is no entrance fee for the preserve.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Outer Bluegrass to Richmond, KY. From Richmond, you will need to catch a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Lily Mountain Nature Preserve. The taxi ride from Richmond to the preserve will take about 30 minutes and may cost around $25-$35. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary by day.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, start in Outer Bluegrass and follow the same route as the car directions, utilizing the bike lanes when available. The ride will be approximately 30 miles and can take around 2-3 hours depending on your speed. Ensure you have proper safety gear and check the weather conditions before starting your journey.
Walking
Walking to Lily Mountain Nature Preserve from Outer Bluegrass is not feasible due to the distance (approximately 30 miles). However, if you are already in Irvine, you can walk from the city center to the preserve on Little Rock Rd, which will take about an hour.
