Getting There

    If you're driving from the town of Nakuru, head north on the A104 road towards the town of Marigat. After approximately 90 kilometers, you will reach Marigat. From Marigat, take the Baringo Road and follow the signs to Lake Baringo. The lake is about 25 kilometers from Marigat. Once you see the sign for Lake Baringo, turn right and follow the road until you reach the lakeshore. There are several access points and viewpoints along the way.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Lake Baringo using public transportation, start from Nakuru and take a matatu (shared taxi) heading to Marigat. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Upon arrival in Marigat, you can hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) or a tuk-tuk to take you to Lake Baringo, which is approximately 25 kilometers away. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your ride. The boda boda drivers are familiar with the lake and can take you to popular spots along the shore.

  • Car

    If you're coming from Baringo County town of Kabarnet, take the Kabarnet-Malaba road (C55) heading towards Marigat. After around 28 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to Lake Baringo. Follow the signs and continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the lake. The road is generally well-maintained, and you will have beautiful views as you approach the lake.
