From Kitui Plains, head west on the Kitui-Kangundo Road. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Mombasa Road (A104). Turn left onto Mombasa Road and drive for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for African Heritage House on your right. The total drive should take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

To reach African Heritage House using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Kitui to Machakos Town. The fare is approximately 100-150 KES. From Machakos, you will need to take another matatu heading towards Nairobi and ask the driver to drop you off at the Mombasa Road junction. The fare for this leg will be around 50-70 KES. Once dropped off, you can either walk about 1 kilometer to reach African Heritage House or hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for a small fee (around 100 KES) to take you directly to the entrance.
