Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the area of Mombasa Marine National Park, head west towards Moi International Airport Road. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the Mombasa-Malindi Highway. Turn left onto the highway and walk north until you reach the roundabout at Nyali Bridge. Cross the bridge into the city center. Once you are on the city side, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Nehru Road. Turn right onto Nehru Road and walk for about 10 minutes. Old Town will be on your left, marked by narrow streets and historical buildings.

  • Bicycle

    From the Nyali area, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Start by cycling down Nyali Road towards the Nyali Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead until you reach the junction with Moi Avenue. Turn left onto Moi Avenue and keep cycling until you reach the intersection with Nehru Road. Turn right onto Nehru Road. Continue for about 5 minutes, and you will find Old Town on your left, characterized by its vibrant atmosphere and rich history.

    Find a matatu (shared minibus) heading towards Mombasa town from a nearby stop. Board the matatu and inform the conductor that you are going to Old Town.
