Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Start at the city center of Mombasa. Head north on Moi Avenue until you reach the Old Port. From there, follow the coastal road (Moi Avenue becomes Kenyatta Avenue) along the coastline. Continue straight until you reach the Nyali Bridge. Cross the bridge and keep heading straight on New Nyali Bridge road. After about 2.5 kilometers, you will see Floating Island Restaurant on your left.

  • Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)

    Find a Boda Boda stand in the city center or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Tell the rider to take you to Floating Island Restaurant on New Nyali Bridge. The ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Keep an eye out for the restaurant as you approach the New Nyali Bridge; it will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you're feeling adventurous and are staying near the coast, you can walk. Start from the Nyali area, walking towards the Nyali Bridge. Follow the pedestrian walkways along the coast until you reach the bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue straight for about 1 kilometer. Floating Island Restaurant will be on your left side. Ensure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen as it can get quite hot!

    From the city center of Mombasa, take a public bus heading to Nyali. Buses are available from various points including Moi Avenue. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the Nyali Bridge. Once you get off, walk towards the New Nyali Bridge road and continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer.
