Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Mombasa city center, head to the Mombasa Terminus bus station. Look for a bus heading towards Kwale or Ukunda. These buses frequently operate, and the fare is usually quite affordable. Once you board the bus, inform the driver that you are going to Sheldrick's Falls. The journey may take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Alight at the nearest stop to Sheldrick's Falls, which is typically at the entrance of the nearby national park.

• Matatu (Shared Taxi)

  From Mombasa, go to the nearest matatu stage. Look for a matatu that goes to Kwale or Ukunda. These usually leave from designated stages in Mombasa, such as near the main bus terminal. After boarding, let the conductor know you want to go to Sheldrick's Falls. The ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Kwale, you may need to take a short walk or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to reach the entrance of Sheldrick's Falls.

• Boda-Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

  If you are already in Kwale or around the entrance to Sheldrick's Falls, you can hire a boda-boda for a more direct route. Simply approach a boda-boda stand and negotiate the fare to Sheldrick's Falls. The ride should be relatively quick, approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to the entrance of Sheldrick's Falls, you can opt to walk. Follow local signage towards the falls, but ensure you have a guide or are aware of your surroundings, as the area may not be well-marked. It's recommended to visit during daylight hours for safety.
