    If you are driving from Lodwar, take the C63 road heading northwest. After approximately 90 kilometers, you will reach the junction for the road leading towards Lake Turkana. Follow the signs for Lake Turkana, which will lead you along a dirt road for about 60 kilometers until you reach the lakeshore. Be mindful of the road conditions, as they can be rough; a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

  • Public Transportation - Matatu

    From Lodwar, take a matatu (shared taxi) that is heading towards Kalokol. These matatus leave from the main bus stage in Lodwar. The journey will take about 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you reach Kalokol, you can hire a local taxi or a motorbike (boda boda) to take you to the lake shore, which is about 30 kilometers away. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around 1000-1500 KES.

    You can also take a long-distance bus from Nairobi to Lodwar. Several companies operate on this route. Once in Lodwar, follow the instructions for the matatu or taxi as mentioned above.
