From Pakse, the most common way to reach Vat Phou is by hiring a tuk-tuk or renting a motorbike. The journey covers approximately 45 km. Cross the Lao-Nippon bridge over the Mekong, turn left after the toll (motorbikes bypass the toll), and follow the road straight to Champasak. From Champasak, follow the signs for another 10 km to Vat Phou. A tuk-tuk from Pakse may cost around 120,000 LAK, excluding the entrance fee. Renting a motorbike ranges from 50,000 to 80,000 LAK per day.
