Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Khammouane Limestone Forest. Head east on Route 12 towards Thakhek. Continue on Route 12 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the FVG2+JMR location, which is near Tham Nong Pa Fa. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the cave site. There is usually parking available near the entrance.
Public Transportation (Bus)
Take a local bus from the main bus station in Khammouane to Thakhek. Buses run regularly throughout the day. The fare is generally inexpensive, around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK. Once you arrive in Thakhek, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a motorcycle taxi to take you to Tham Nong Pa Fa, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 30,000 to 50,000 LAK.
Tuk-tuk or Motorcycle Taxi
If you are already in Thakhek, you can use a tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi to get to Tham Nong Pa Fa. Simply inform the driver of your destination and agree on a fare before starting your journey. The ride should take about 15 minutes and cost around 30,000 to 50,000 LAK. You will be dropped off near the entrance to the cave.
Walking
If you find yourself close to Tham Nong Pa Fa after arriving via tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi, it's a short walk to the entrance. Be prepared to walk on uneven terrain and wear appropriate footwear as the area can be rugged. Ensure to carry sufficient water and sun protection.
