Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Luang Prabang, start at the National Museum, located at the intersection of Sisavangvong Road and Phothisalath Road. Head east along Phothisalath Road until you reach the intersection with Kounxoa Road. Turn left onto Kounxoa Road and continue walking straight. You will pass several local shops and cafes along the way. After approximately 1 km, you will see a sign pointing towards Wat Pa Phon Phao. Turn right onto the path leading up the hill, which is well-marked. Walk up the steps and follow the path to reach the temple.

    If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Luang Prabang. Start from the center, head east on Sisavangvong Road, and then turn onto Phothisalath Road.
