From Phonsavan, the main town near the Xiangkhoang Plateau, go to the bus station and look for buses heading towards the plateau or nearby villages. The bus ride takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Tickets usually cost around 30,000 to 50,000 LAK (Laotian Kip). Confirm with the driver that they are stopping at or near the Xiangkhoang Plateau.

If driving from Phonsavan, head north on Route 7 for approximately 30 kilometers. Pass through small villages and scenic landscapes. At the junction with Route 1C, turn right and continue for about 15 kilometers until you see the sign for Xiangkhoang Plateau. There are no tolls on this route.
